Precondition Failed: iOpus iMacros solution

This particular registry key, which advertises what my IE browser is capable of, was causing me to get a “Precondition Failed” when trying to access some WordPress blogs:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\User Agent\Post Platform]
"iOpus-I-M"=""

You can see what any browser reports itself as at http://anonymouse.org/cgi-bin/anon-snoop.cgi

See the Browser & OS Section. Mine used to report “iOpus-I-M;” among the others (because of the registry setting above). IOpus Internet Macros is a browser plugin I use with IE to record internet macros, like logging into websites automatically or playback of repetitive mouse click sequences on the web. It’s a very easy and cool tool.

Anyway, I manually removed it the registry entry, and it works. Most links on the web for Precondition Failed error on WordPress refer to whitelisting IPs for the Bad Behavior (“BB”) plugin for Wordpress, which was not the issue. My guess is that Wordpress or your webserver fail people using the iOpus Internet Macros plugin because it could be used as a low-budget way to spam blogs in an automated fashion.
